Lead Testing Disclosure--CUSD 5 in Compliance with State Regulations
Bement CUSD in compliance with the State of Illinois law has completed the lead in water testing. We are well below the acceptable levels or have no evidence of lead at all at our water drinking sources. The only exception and it is temporary. - We have one source that we are sending samples back to be analyzed and that is the water fountain in the Industrial Tech building. We purchased a new fountain and that should take care of the issue, but we have to wait to get the water sample results back. Until we receive those, that water fountain is off limits for drinking. I will post when that water source is given the "all clear". All water sources that might be used for drinking were sampled. All school districts in Illinois have to do this by the end of 2017. We took care of the testing results over the summer when there were no students present. Prairie Analytical was the certified lab that did our testing.
